The grounds at Halzephron House are the perfect place for a relaxed, ocean-side wedding reception. You have the flexibility to bring in your preferred caterers, florists, marquee and musicians, although we are happy to offer recommendations. We simply provide the location with the ocean and setting sun as your back drop. The Cottage, Cabin and Observatory come as part of the package for you and your guests to use for the three or seven night hire.¬†We’ve hosted numerous humanist weddings with the bride and groom coming from as far afield as New Zealand, America and Sweden.

Here’s a WONDERFUL FILM of Piers and Charlies wedding in May 2014

One of the most spectacular weddings held here followed a ceremony at the beautiful church of St Winwalloe on the beach a the bottom of the lane. A giant tipi with integral dance floor, bar with firepit and dining area housed the celebrations.

“I can’t think of anywhere on earth as epic yet grounded as Halzephron House to have a wedding. Our guests made giant journeys to get here, so we laid on a spread, pulling in every favour the parish has to offer (from the bells at the fisherman’s church on the beach, to a rock’n’roll vicar whose daughter fell asleep on reindeer skins). After a plunge in the sea, they walked up the coast path and gorged out on lamb tagine while a 20-a-side football match broke out as the sun sank to the west. As darkness fell, they danced their socks off in the giant teepees, before midnight paella round a log fire, or at least that’s what i remember. Roger & Lucy are the most inspiring, accommodating, life-affirming hosts you could wish for, and they even seem to have control of the weather (God knows how). We booked the house for the week and filled it with friends, so we got 7 days of Halzephron-ness and Gunwalloe, it’s a magical spot. Don’t go safe and book a soul-less hotel. If you want your big day to last all your life, tie the knot here.” Peter Kirby

“My husband and I rented Halzephron House for our wedding and for the week after. What a great decision that was! The location itself is breathtaking and the views spectacular. We had a marquee on the front lawn and the backdrop of the ocean and the gardens was so beautiful.
We absolutely loved the house and the cabin and used them for our mini honeymoon after the wedding. We hardly left the house as the log burner, spacious dining room, quirky furniture and decoration provided everything we needed.
Lucy was brilliant – really helpful, knowledgable and considerate. She was always available to answer any questions in the lead up to the big day and was always very accommodating when we wanted to visit the site again and again.
I honestly can not think of a better location for a wedding or a getaway. Our wedding was perfect and the venue and location played a huge part in that. I am so so happy that we found Lucy and Halzephron House in time for our wedding and I would highly recommend them to anybody else (they get very booked up so don’t leave it too long!)
Reasons I loved Halzephron House: beautiful sea views, secret gardens, immaculate lawns, private setting, versatile space, relaxed and friendly owners and outstanding natural beauty from every angle!
Thanks again for helping us have the best day ever!”

“We held our wedding reception here on 4/5/13 as well as staying from the Friday to Monday in the house, cabin and observatory, and we really couldn’t have had a more magical weekend. From start to finish Lucy and Roger were accommodating and thoughtful, even matching the flowers in the house to our colour scheme. The house itself is stunning and the surroundings are unparalleled! Every single guest has complimented our choice of venue and spent their time admiring everything from the orangery to the luxurious beds! I cannot recommend Halzephron House enough and we would love to come back for our anniversary, if not sooner. Thanks Lucy and Roger for such a special weekend” x Leonie Handley.
